How to install Firefox in Joli OS 1.2 ? First of all I am not an expert on Linux or Ubuntu but the following method is based on my searches on the topic using Google. When you installed Joli OS the installed package will include only Chromium web browser. If you want to install Firefox browser the following method may be used. (I am using Joli OS 1.2). Press Alt-F1 to call the terminal command window Type the following command “sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.list” and press Enter You may need to enter the admin password (the password you used when log in to Joli OS) This will invoke the editor and open the file ubuntu.list for editing. I am using Google bookmark because it is well organized in terms of You can put many keywords as you like You can search your bookmarks with Google search technology You can access your bookmarks anywhere connected to internet However, when you want to add a new bookmark you may need to go to Google bookmark site, this is not so convenient. I am also using Mozilla Firefox and tried to find a good add-on for this but it seems that the available add-on(s) for the moment does not work well as my requirement. In windows xp we usually use the file manager to manage windows files. "Show in Groups" is a view that is very useful for managing files. After applying the view if you click at the Name tab the files will be grouped by the first alphabetical order. If the Size tab is clicked the files will be grouped by their sizes (small, medium, large). Usually I group them by file type which makes it easier to manage than in standard view (different file types will be separated). When we open or save (save as) the file in MS-Office normally the default folder is My Document. If you look at the left pane there are some alternative folders such as Desktop etc. If you have the folder that you use often it is possible to have it on this left pane where it is easier to open of save the files into the folder. We could do this by choosing the menu 'open' or 'save as', select your folder to add to, then select 'Tools' and 'Add to My Places'. มีไฟล์เยอะแยะในคอมฯ จัดการยังไงดี  ใส่ไฟล์ในโฟลเดอร์ My Documents ให้มันอยู่ใน sub directory นี้ มีข้อดี คือ ในโปรแกรมส่วนใหญ่ เวลา save หรือ open ไฟล์มันจะไปที่ My Documents โฟลเดอร์ ก่อน สะดวกดี นอกจากนี้ยังสะดวกเวลา Back up ไฟล์ ไม่กระจัดกระจาย ย้าย Location ของโฟลเดอร์ My Documents ไปไว้ในไดร์ฟ D: ที่เป็น Dataจ Disk ทำให้ข้อมูลไม่หายถ้าไดร์ฟ C: มีปัญหา หรือหากต้องการ Format ลงวินโดวส์ใหม่ก็จะสะดวกกว่า อันนี้ต้องใช้โปรแกรมพวก  Tweak UI  ทำก็จะง่าย ถ้าให้ดีก็ควร Back up ไว้ที่ External Hardisk อีกต่อหนึ่ง แยกไฟล์ที่ไม่ทำเสร็จแล้วกับกำลังทำอยู่ ข้อดีคือช่วยลดเวลาในการหาไฟล์หรือ Back up เก็บไฟล์ประเภทเดียวกันไว้ในโฟลเดอร์เดียวกัน ง่ายในการหา และใช้ View Thumnail หาง่ายกว่าเช่นพวกรูปภาพ หลีกเลี่ยงโครงสร้างโฟลเดอร์ใหญ่ๆ โดยใช้ระบบตัวอักษร A-Z ใช้ Short cut แทนที่จะ copy ไฟล์ไว้หลายๆ copies ใช้ชื่อไฟล์สั้นๆ ใช้ตัวย่อ เช่น MTG= meeting หรือใช้ code แสดงวันที่ เช่น report_021001 คือ October 02, 2001 กด F11 ทำให้มีพื้นที่แสดงผลมากขึ้นใน Full screen mode

เวลาเปิดโฟลเดอร์ที่เป็น mp3 files มันจะมี Play all ให้ที่เมนูทางซ้าย แต่มันไม่เวิร์คมานานละ ไม่มีเวลาแก้ซักที ก่อนอื่นต้องดาวน์โหลดโปรแกรม ShellExView จากนั้น install แล้วรันโปรแกรม จากนั้นมันจะแสดง context menu handlers ให้ disable ทีละตัว โดยเฉพาะที่ไม่ใช่ของโปรแกรมที่พัฒนาโดยไมโครซอฟท์ เริ่มจากตัวที่สงสัยก่อน ทำไปทีละตัวแล้วลอง Play all ดู แล้วก็พบ มันคือ Magic ISO โปรแกรมจำลอง CD drive ที่เป็นตัวต้นเหตุ ตอนนี้แก้ปัญหานี้ได้ละ Credits: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm
