Tips: Add Google Bookmark

I am using Google bookmark because it is well organized in terms of
  • You can put many keywords as you like
  • You can search your bookmarks with Google search technology
  • You can access your bookmarks anywhere connected to internet
However, when you want to add a new bookmark you may need to go to Google bookmark site, this is not so convenient.

I am also using Mozilla Firefox and tried to find a good add-on for this but it seems that the available add-on(s) for the moment does not work well as my requirement.

Now this is my trick using Java Script (I found it on web and saved it long time ago). Follow these steps.
  1. Right click at your bookmark toolbar in Firefox (I'm using version 3.5)
  2. Select ... New Bookmark
  3. In Name tab put a name such as "Add Google Bookmark"
  4. In Location tab put this command (you can cut and paste) "javascript:(function(){var a=window,b=document,c=encodeURIComponent,d=a.open("http://www.google.com/bookmarks/mark?op=edit&output=popup&bkmk="+c(b.location)+"&title="+c(b.title),"bkmk_popup","left="+((a.screenX||a.screenLeft)+10)+",top="+((a.screenY||a.screenTop)+10)+",height=420px,width=550px,resizable=1,alwaysRaised=1");a.setTimeout(function(){d.focus()},300)})();"
  5. Note: The code above does not include " "
  6. Now you will have new button on your bookmark tab and you can start to use it.
  7. This method can also be applied to other browsers.
